Many IDTA teachers from Ireland attended the seminar which was held from 2nd to 6th August in the University of Leicester. Our timetable was extremely busy with lectures on all syllabi,We got the opportunity to see the new Advanced One Ballet, Advanced Two Modern Jazz, Theatre Craft grades (preparatory to grade two) and the Street Dance syllabus being demonstrated – all were extremely impressive and will be enjoyed by all who teach it and all their pupils too.As well as new work being introduced there were many lectures on existing syllabi including Tap grades and performers, Gymnastic dance grades, Modern Jazz grades, Ballet grades and performers, National Dance.Sam Holloway a qualified beauty and holistic therapist was also on hand if you would have liked a treatment, reflexology, back massage, manicure etc.Our evenings were well occupied too; the IDTA seminar committee arranged some evening activities e.g. table quizzes, salsa evenings and also a First Aid course for anybody who would have liked to take part. I would highly recommend the Leicester Seminar to all teachers. Deirdre Brennan |
