Three students from The Peelo School of dance attended the IDTA modern jazz scholarship awards in Manchester last March. We had a fantastic time, Elaine McDonald and Aisling Gobl were in the Grade Five category, and Rebecca Flynn was in the Advanced Two category. All three did brilliant and flew the flag for Ireland. Aisling was awarded a special commendation – which meant she was in the top 6 of her category. Elaine was also awarded the IDTA overseas’ commendation award for 2006. Rebecca will be leaving Ireland in September to attend the Salzburg Academy in Austria, we’ll miss her terribly but are so excited for her too www.siba-academy.com . The Peelo School of Dance based in Maynooth and Celbridge performed “Let’s Dance” in the Helix theatre on the 31 st March and 1st April, this was a great success and al pupils thoroughly enjoyed their experience. The Peelo School of Dance pupils based in Roscommon and Longford took their IDTA grade examinations and medal tests last May. All students did very well and as their teacher I’d like to congratulate them all.
